I’ve been reading about 2 separate contaminated air accidents today, one in the Maldives and one in Singapore, both resulting in diver fatailities. About the only thing one can do is to sniff the air in your tank before diving (which won’t detect Carbon Monoxide of course, but may tip you off to other types of contamination that may be present in conjunction), and to dive with reputable operators.
