For the second dive of St. Valentine’s day 2009 in Cozumel, we motored up the coast to these two reefs. Like Maracaibo, the bottom was sandy with a lots of coral. I didn’t see anything unusual except large groups of divers from other boats bouncing (literally) around. We steered clear of them the best we could. The maximum depth of 60 feet allowed for a decent 55 minute bottom time without any decompression, but I extended my safety stop to 5 minutes, so I could watch a turtle swimming under us for a while, and also because I like to be underwater at any depth.

Only saw a Filefish, Barracuda, Turtle, Lobster, and some Grunts and other common fish. Am I getting jaded? As we were north of the hotel on these reefs we went straight back to La Caleta Marina and Capitan Mago gave me a ride back to the hotel.
